Frania's Bridal Makeup: On Beauty, Family, and Being Skinny
Photos, except for "before" and "prepping": IHeartMyGroom
I had the paramount pleasure and exciting esteem of being Frania's wedding day makeup artist. Not only were the raw materials majestic (her naturally gorgeous face and goddess-like figure) but she is a MomInMascara VIP. She is very special to me; I've known her for 25 years, since she was age 2.
As her groom said during his speech, her beauty is on the inside too. I told her at the reception that what amazes me about her is her unflinching grace, unbending heart, and undoubtable sensibility.
And how skinny she was! Frania, whatever you did worked. You were a total fox in that gown! A fit, fit, skinny fox.
Onto the makeup. Here is a before and after.
My heart is full of love.
And a few more of the day. Notice how pretty Frania is beforehand, how much her smile glows afterwards, and - in the background of last two pics - how much I cannot contain myself about the joy of this day... (!)
Also notice... how amazingly skinny this bride is! Go FRANIA!!
That we've known each other our whole lives makes us family; what sealed it indefintiely was being "backstage" together on this momentous day. My heart is full of love.
Excuse me while I eat celery now. I'm trying to get as skinny as Bridey.
Xx, Mom in Mascara
My skin was smoother than life in a week. So I went back for more. Which is why I look like a dartboard this week. Check with me in a few days.
Sometimes our vain or handsy self gets a grip on our heart. Greed is a nauseating and nasty (yet altogether naturally occasional) vice. But as a wise woman once said, “remember all those women on The Titanic who waved off the dessert cart.”
Jasmine Swann, a self-characterized "clean beauty junkie with a dirty past" has a special meaning of love too. Of course, hers isn't easy either.
Gifts are symbolic and it's in our human DNA to want to share with people we love. Psychologically speaking, gift giving is a deeply natural way of forming bonds.
Don nary a bracelet nor necklace... but enrobe your life in gemstones nonetheless (without the new-agey bull-crud).

beautyblender: I still really love you, but lowercase is soo goop circa 2008.
Forcing another person to do virtually anything is generally indicative of malice. Unless mom is forcing you to eat your veggies. (Also, an appearance by Brandi Glanville.)
The face cream was... well, really and truly, thickly, abundantly black. Strangely black. It was ambiguous in its inexplicably. It was wonderfully luxurious, and inexorably mysterious, but just too expensive for what you're really getting.
