Order My Casket, Because I Die: Paolo Costagli at Betteridge
There is nothing in the world like Greenwich Avenue. It's one part SoHo h-loi mix, one part East Hampton, two parts suburbs and one part glitz. It's strange and fantastic.
The pieces I wanted were not on sale. #Figures.
One of the best spots on "The Ave" is Betteridge, brimming with the most heart-wrenchingly gorgeous shiny objêts in the world. For a jewelry lover like me, a quick stroll is like magic, heaven, nirvana.
Last time I took a little stroll through Betteridge I was with my mom during their twice-yearly sale event. Of course, the pieces I was attracted to were not on sale. #Figures.
Each piece I drooled over was by a certain jeweler: Paolo Costagli. The rich, modern angles drew me in, but the fine craftsmanship won me over. This is truly fine jewelry without the snooze or stuffiness.
Get this: the earrings are a sheet of diamond pave encased in a gorgeously slanted cut of white topaz, dripping from a white gold and white sapphire hook top.
Yes please.
The hook top is $2,000 and the white topaz and diamond drops are $8,900, according to the helpful, kind and knowledgeable Charol Harris of Betteridge.
Note the diamond pave below the gemstone in the amethyst ring as well. And the rings in the first picture have this gorgeous hexagonal structure (making them ideal for stacking); see this also in the earrings. The Paolo is smart.
So, it's time to sell the car.
I can walk, right?
